Random Acts of Kindness

From The Counsellor’s Chair

Mrs Renata Good, our School Counsellor and play therapist has some ideas to consider during Half Term:

‘Tuesday 17th February is Random Acts of Kindness Day.  Share a random act of kindness to spread positive thoughts and actions and in the process influence other people to perform a random act of kindness.  It does not have to cost a penny or take up much time – such as giving up your seat on a crowded bus or tube, opening a door for someone, or offering to help with a few chores.  Saying, ‘Good morning,’ or ‘How are you today?’   Clearing up after yourself or contacting that person you were meaning to speak to for ages but things somehow got in the way of it happening.

Even the smallest acts of kindness can have a profound impact on the recipient.  So make 17th February your Random Act of Kindness Day to help spread thoughtfulness and consideration.  Have a good half term.’

As St Paul in his letter to the Ephesians wrote: ‘Be generous to one another, sympathetic, forgiving each other as readily as God forgave you in Christ’.
