On Saturday 6th September our Upper VI leavers attended the traditional Progression dinner at St Augustine’s Priory.  This dinner marks the progression of our Upper VI from their life at St Augustine’s Priory to their new life at university.  Girls, staff and guests met in the Music Room prior to the meal for refreshments and then all progressed down the cloister to a transformed Pupils’ Refectory – decorated and candlelit for the evening’s celebration.

After a delicious meal comprising asparagus and pancetta, followed by salmon and ending with a white chocolate cheesecake with raspberries, there were speeches from the Headteacher, Mrs Raffray, our outgoing Head Girl, Gursimran Deu (who, although stranded overseas, had valiantly texted her speech to be read by one of her colleagues) and our new Head Girl, Caitlin Tipping.  Finally, our guest speaker, former Augustinian Catherine Myford-Mahoney, shared some of her happy memories of her time at St Augustine’s Priory – one of her memories from her first day here as a very small girl was running hand in hand with a newly-made friend from the school buildings all the way down to the end of the grounds!

As always Progression was a joyful occasion marking a milestone in the lives of our Upper VI leavers, many of whom had been at school at St Augustine’s Priory since Prep I.  We wish them every success in their new career at university.
