Be Zestful with Zumba
Zumba fitness has quickly grown to be one of the most popular group exercise classes in the world. In fact, it is performed by more than 14 million people in 125 countries (that’s more than double the amount of countries in which Starbucks is sold!), and now it’s here at St Augustine’s Priory!
Zumba is a dance fitness class which focuses on music and dance moves from a mixture of Salsa, Regaeton, Cumbria, and Merengue. What makes Zumba such a huge success is how fun and entertaining it is to do. Grace in Upper V explains:
‘It’s a great way to be sociable and keep fit – you just don’t feel like you’re exercising’.
The club began at the start of the Michaelmas term and runs from 1.00 p.m. – 1.30 p.m. every Wednesday lunchtime. All girls in the Senior School are invited for a fun, intense workout lead by Geography teacher Miss Keep. The club is in high demand and has a limit of 30 students every week, so if you are interested in joining the party please sign up on the Zumba class list which is located on the sports notice board.
