Careers Programme

Priory 6 Careers Talks take place on Thursday lunchtimes throughout the Michaelmas and Lent Terms. Speakers from a wide variety of industries visit the Priory 6 Common Room to speak to girls from Upper V and Priory 6 about their chosen career paths. The speaker programme, this year, included Barbara Marino (Orsa Consultancy – Engineering & Compliance) and Phil Parry (BBC Sports Broadcaster). Our GCSE and A Level scientists were invited for a special lecture by Professor Michael Seckl at the NIHR/Wellcome Trust Imperial Clinical Research Facility at Hammersmith Hospital.

Work experience

This summer, many of our rising Lower VI took up work experience in a programme put together by Mr Ferguson (Careers Coordinator). Many of our parents and other members of The Association offered opportunities to the girls, which meant that excellent placements were secured in a wide range of organisations including the Houses of Parliament, Windsor Road Dental Surgery, BBC News & Technology, BT Sport, London Stock Exchange, Fox Rodney Search Ltd, Cineworld, The Sun newspaper and with Music Producer Dan Carey.

“I just wanted to write to say that Davitika was an absolute joy to have in our offices this week. She is outgoing, keen, and mature way beyond her years. We have had previous interns who are more than 5 years older than her who have been nowhere near as mature! Thanks!” (Stephen Rodney)
