Black History Month.

Ms Bhatti, School Librarian, has adorned the Scriptorium with a display marking Black History Month.

She writes, ‘In the Scriptorium, Black History Month is a celebration of writers, illustrators and inspirational people of colour.

We have created a display in the library to promote Black History Month along with a colourful array of books of influential people recognised for their outstanding contribution to society.

The Book Trust’s link to ‘Breaking New Ground:  Celebrating British writers and illustrators of colour’ can be seen via this link:  https://issuu.com/booktrust/docs/breaking_ground_brochure

In addition there is news of a Book Amnesty!

Just before the lockdown in March 2020, many of our library books were borrowed and, unfortunately, do not seem to have been returned. Please can we request a few minutes of your time over the half-term break to help the school library. We are asking all pupils and parents to have a look at home over the half-term break, to see if they can find any school library books.  If so, please can you kindly return the books in the Big Blue Book return box situated in both Juniors and Seniors library. Thank you for your support.’

Half Term is a golden opportunity to read, read, read!
