Lower II and Upper II training.

Monday 15th October saw some exciting training for members of Lower II and Upper II.  This was their opportunity to undertake some Religious Education leadership training, a wonderful development in their faith journey.  Alice Mackay in Lower II describes day for us:

‘Five girls from Lower II and Upper II (including myself) went on a trip to St Joseph’s and trained to be RE Pupil Leaders. It was so much fun and a real treat to be invited. Sister Judith was so welcoming, she put a smile on my face instantly. We learnt at St Joseph’s that we are a team brought together by God, he is asking us to be stewards of his earth and protect it by supporting charities, reducing pollution and working together: GIFT (Growing In Faith Together Team).

We also talked about how we could use our Big Sister Little Sister concept at St Augustine’s Priory. We thought we could play with the Preps to build a better bond with them and maybe once a month say prayers altogether. Other activities we could do as Big Sisters would be to talk to Lower I about their forthcoming First Holy Communion. This would hopefully comfort them and help them with the spiritual journey they are about to take. We plan to lead an assembly explaining our roles as RE Pupil Leaders to the Junior School and Preps after the Half Term break. We will explain how we as a community are all part of Team Jesus.

Thank you Mrs Knowles, we had a fantastic day!’

The training the girls from Lower II and Upper II received was led by Sr Judith Russi, an inspirational woman who is Director of EducareM and works for the promotion of Catholic Education and formation for the transformation of the person for the transformation of society.  She has worked for many years in all fields of Catholic education and is the author of a variety of religious education books at primary, secondary and Sixth Form levels.

Strengthening Our Community: The Return of Boys to our Preps and Pre-Preps

We are excited to share that, from September 2026, boys will begin moving up from our Nursery into Reception, marking the gradual reintroduction of boys into our Prep and Pre-Prep School.

This step reflects growing interest from families who value our strong holistic ethos and unique grounds and setting and would like their sons and daughters to share their educational journey together.

At St Augustine’s, our strong sense of community, academic excellence, and deep care for each individual child remain at the heart of everything we do. This is a natural evolution of our school rather than a change to who we are, building on our strengths and allowing us to offer the same joyful, inspiring education to even more children.
