Form III and DELF

French learning steams ahead!

Ms Gandi, Modern Languages Department, reports that three of our Form III girls sat the DELF Prim A1.1 in November 2020.  She says, ‘This is the first time that we have sat the DELF Prim A1.1 at St Augustine’s Priory.  The DELF is a diploma awarded by the French Ministry of Education to improve the French language skills of non-French candidates.  It comprises four sections:  listening, reading, writing and speaking’.

Ms Gandi continues, ‘Pupils have been working towards this since last year Spring and kept up their motivation and commitment throughout the last lockdown. The girls acquitted themselves very well with Amba achieving 88 out of 100, Claudia 90 out of 100 and Arianna 100/100!  The pass rate is 50/100.’

The Modern Languages Department continues its march to fluency in French with a DELF A1 club running to enable girls in Form III to progress to the next level.

Congratulations to all those who achieved such excellent results!

Strengthening Our Community: The Return of Boys to our Preps and Pre-Preps

We are excited to share that, from September 2026, boys will begin moving up from our Nursery into Reception, marking the gradual reintroduction of boys into our Prep and Pre-Prep School.

This step reflects growing interest from families who value our strong holistic ethos and unique grounds and setting and would like their sons and daughters to share their educational journey together.

At St Augustine’s, our strong sense of community, academic excellence, and deep care for each individual child remain at the heart of everything we do. This is a natural evolution of our school rather than a change to who we are, building on our strengths and allowing us to offer the same joyful, inspiring education to even more children.
