A Musical Christmas present idea

Posted: 9th December 2020

An album of carols.

For those of you who would like to accompany your Christmas Day with music, why not enjoy some music, provided by our guitar teacher, Mr Scott?

This year he has produced an album entitled, ‘Christmas Carols for Solo Guitar’.  Mr Scott studied both classical and jazz guitar while at the Royal College of Music and was always fascinated by the crossing of these two genres.

Therefore, all the arrangements on this album are full of jazz harmony with modifications to the themes – making them almost original compositions.  Although only a short album, ‘Christmas Carols for Solo Guitar’ consists of popular carols such as God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, In the Bleak Midwinter, Deck the Halls, We Three Kings and Silent Night.

If you would like a taster of the album, please go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rhqt6Lcg9i8 to hear one of the tracks.

The whole album will be available next week on all platforms spotify, iTunes, band camp (online websites) and CD via Mr Scott’s website: willscottguitarist.co.uk

Strengthening Our Community: The Return of Boys to our Preps and Pre-Preps

We are excited to share that, from September 2026, boys will begin moving up from our Nursery into Reception, marking the gradual reintroduction of boys into our Prep and Pre-Prep School.

This step reflects growing interest from families who value our strong holistic ethos and unique grounds and setting and would like their sons and daughters to share their educational journey together.

At St Augustine’s, our strong sense of community, academic excellence, and deep care for each individual child remain at the heart of everything we do. This is a natural evolution of our school rather than a change to who we are, building on our strengths and allowing us to offer the same joyful, inspiring education to even more children.
