Junior Theatre Club: Running Wild

Upper I to Upper II enjoy the magic of the jungle in Regent’s Park

Mrs Tippen, Deputy Head, Juniors, here tells us about an exciting visit to the theatre this week to see ‘Running Wild’.

“On Tuesday 7th June, 36 girls from Upper I, Lower II and Upper II went on a Theatre Club outing to Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre to see a new stage adaptation of Michael Morpurgo’s  “Running Wild”.  We were very excited because girls from the Senior School were performing as part of the cast in the Young People’s Ensemble.

We were given fantastic seats right next to the stage and were even able to touch the amazing life size animal puppets as they passed by.  The special effects were spectacular, especially the Tsunami wave which engulfed the whole audience.  The performance took us through an emotional journey from the destruction of the rain forest to illegal poaching with full size, incredibly life-like puppets including an elephant, a tiger and a family of orangutans.

As usual, our girls’ behaviour was exemplary and yet again we were complemented by a member of the public.  A very successful final Theatre Club trip for this school year.”
