Through Holy Week with the Juniors

Mrs Van Der Merwe, Form Teacher, Lower I, takes us through Holy Week with Upper I and Lower I.  The girls in both classes have made Holy Week bracelets to support their learning about the events and importance of Holy Week, which is also part of our R.E. curriculum.

In Upper I the bracelets were in the style of a traditional wooden saint bracelet with pictures from Holy Week instead of the saints. In Lower I symbols of Holy Week were attached to the core bracelets.

Here are some of the thoughts of the pupils in Lower I:

“The bracelet reminds me of Jesus and all the things he did in Holy week.”  Lucy Kerr; “I wore it to my first reconciliation.” Ivy Lo; “It was easy to make and when you look at the pictures it tells you the story”  Hannah Story;

And one final comment:  “My bracelet reminds me that God loves me.”

With best wishes for a Happy and Holy Easter from Upper I and Lower I.

Strengthening Our Community: The Return of Boys to our Preps and Pre-Preps

We are excited to share that, from September 2026, boys will begin moving up from our Nursery into Reception, marking the gradual reintroduction of boys into our Prep and Pre-Prep School.

This step reflects growing interest from families who value our strong holistic ethos and unique grounds and setting and would like their sons and daughters to share their educational journey together.

At St Augustine’s, our strong sense of community, academic excellence, and deep care for each individual child remain at the heart of everything we do. This is a natural evolution of our school rather than a change to who we are, building on our strengths and allowing us to offer the same joyful, inspiring education to even more children.
