First Holy Communion Mass

Posted: 6th May 2021

A time to celebrate.

This past year has been a time of waiting.  Never more so than in Lower I and Upper I.  Lower I is the year when our First Holy Communicants celebrate the receiving of that Sacrament in their parishes, which is always followed by a celebratory Mass here at St Augustine’s Priory.  Families and friends usually join us in this Mass, and afterwards join us for refreshments in the grounds.

Unfortunately, these girls were unable to make their First Holy Communion during the last year and so, this week, we celebrated not only with our Lower I girls, but also with our Upper I pupils, who will soon receive Holy Communion for the first time.

Fr Thomas celebrated Mass for us in the Chapel and, as parents were unable to join us this year, the service was live-streamed to families.

We were so happy that this year we were able to mark this very special event and look forward to welcoming families and friends back to our Chapel in the future.

Strengthening Our Community: The Return of Boys to our Preps and Pre-Preps

We are excited to share that, from September 2026, boys will begin moving up from our Nursery into Reception, marking the gradual reintroduction of boys into our Prep and Pre-Prep School.

This step reflects growing interest from families who value our strong holistic ethos and unique grounds and setting and would like their sons and daughters to share their educational journey together.

At St Augustine’s, our strong sense of community, academic excellence, and deep care for each individual child remain at the heart of everything we do. This is a natural evolution of our school rather than a change to who we are, building on our strengths and allowing us to offer the same joyful, inspiring education to even more children.
