Tag Rugby

Posted: 14th October 2021

A sporting achievement.

Ms Lindsay, P.E. Department, has recently taken part in some national championships, and her team emerged winners!

Ms Lindsay writes,

‘Last weekend saw the UK Tag Rugby Nationals 2021.  This event saw a record 32 teams from the 10 different Try Tag Rugby regions around the UK come together to battle it out across mixed open, men’s open and women’s open categories to see which region would be crowned the UK Tag National Champions.

Despite the weather, it didn’t stop some top-class Tag Rugby being played nor did it lessen the pride and passion on show from the players as a great day was had by all.

My team, the West London Wolves, for whom I am a player/coach, beat the East London Eels 1-0 in the final, a team which had beaten us earlier in the day in the pool stages.

I am currently a coach for the Great Britain Tag Rugby Women’s Open team and I play for The Great Britain Seniors team.  During half term we are off to Ireland to take part in the British and Irish Cup’.

Many congratulations to Ms Lindsay  on her team, the West London Wolves, being crowned the women’s winners in the UK Tag Nationals 2021 and good luck for the British and Irish Cup!
