MFL Junior Film Night

‘Encanto’.

Ms de Lahitte of the Modern Foreign Languages Department organised a film night for the Juniors on Friday 10th June.  Upper II and some members of Lower II gathered in the Priory Sixth Common Room to watch the film ‘Encanto’, which follows a Colombian family whose children and grandchildren receive magical gifts which enable them to help their community.  When the family start to lose their magic, one of the family members goes in search of the reason for this, in order to save her family.

Ms de Lahitte reports, ‘The showing of ‘Encanto’ went very well and the children all enjoyed the film, rising brilliantly to the challenge of watching it in Spanish (with English subtitles)!

The money raised from the refreshments available prior to the showing raised a wonderful £90.00 which will be used to sponsor Nico, the Argentinian boy whose education we support through the charity, Fundación Anpuy.’

Strengthening Our Community: The Return of Boys to our Preps and Pre-Preps

We are excited to share that, from September 2026, boys will begin moving up from our Nursery into Reception, marking the gradual reintroduction of boys into our Prep and Pre-Prep School.

This step reflects growing interest from families who value our strong holistic ethos and unique grounds and setting and would like their sons and daughters to share their educational journey together.

At St Augustine’s, our strong sense of community, academic excellence, and deep care for each individual child remain at the heart of everything we do. This is a natural evolution of our school rather than a change to who we are, building on our strengths and allowing us to offer the same joyful, inspiring education to even more children.
