Seniors celebrate in the Chapel.
On the morning of Wednesday 8th June, Form III to Upper IV held a Liturgy of the Word in the Chapel. Form IIIA had prepared this beautiful liturgy and it was a time to gather together and listen to the Word of God. Form III pupils read and delivered the Prayers of the Faithful extremely well and, following the readings, Mrs Raffray gave a reflection on the Feast of Pentecost, which was on 5th June. Pentecost celebrates the event when the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles, Mary and the earliest followers of Jesus.
Pentecost is therefore a time of meeting together, unity and celebrating the Holy Spirit and the gifts He brings. Mrs Raffray also spoke about how one of the main messages that Jesus brings is, ‘Do not be afraid’. It was a message that He gave to His followers and a message that He gives to us now. We are the Easter People.
Mrs Raffray stressed the importance of taking the time to be with God. Taking time for prayer and reflection gives the Holy Spirit the chance to be with us and to speak to us.
