Building the Kingdom

Nursery to Upper II enjoy meeting our guests.

We hosted visitors on Friday 25th March when Deputy Heads from around the country came to St Augustine’s Priory as part of the National School of Formation Barnabas Magdalene Programme.  The programme is designed to promote leadership and our guests spent the day observing our work around Building the Kingdom.

From the Nursery to Upper II our pupils spent the day in learning about bread and its importance in symbolism in the life of the Church.  They also learnt how to make bread  – and flour, butter and a lot of kneading went into our bakers’ work!

We received excellent comments from our visitors, including ‘..the collaboration and learning which everyone saw was so enjoyable for the girls in your care and academically challenging’ and commenting on what several said, ‘two (visitors) were going to replicate one of your ideas each, while the others were effusive about what they experienced on the day’.

Thank you to all who made this day possible, it was a wonderful experience and we do look forward to our visitors returning!

Strengthening Our Community: The Return of Boys to our Preps and Pre-Preps

We are excited to share that, from September 2026, boys will begin moving up from our Nursery into Reception, marking the gradual reintroduction of boys into our Prep and Pre-Prep School.

This step reflects growing interest from families who value our strong holistic ethos and unique grounds and setting and would like their sons and daughters to share their educational journey together.

At St Augustine’s, our strong sense of community, academic excellence, and deep care for each individual child remain at the heart of everything we do. This is a natural evolution of our school rather than a change to who we are, building on our strengths and allowing us to offer the same joyful, inspiring education to even more children.
