The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.

Maggie, our 16+ Drama Scholar, reports on the recent GCSE and A Level Drama visit to view the production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time on 23rd November.

‘The production of ‘The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time’ was spectacular! The play excellently communicated the hardship of having the symptoms associated with being on the autistic spectrum to me as an audience member, and still managed to be relatable by showing the struggles of relationships inside the family unit. The atmosphere of the overall production was electric through the use of sudden light changes and unexpected music blasts, which made it a thrilling experience aurally and visually.

Moreover, I, along with the rest of the audience, were taken on a rollercoaster of emotions: moments of laughter, sadness and the audience “awwing”. The diversity in the cast, including a deaf female lead and transgender narrator and superb acting, allowed the production to feel inclusive and more relatable to everyday life. I would definitely recommend everyone to see the production; you will not be disappointed!’
