Royal Society of Literature.

Two members of Upper V, Anoushka and Maddie, make a strong appearance on the Royal Society of Literature’s Write Across London Poetry Map with their poetic contribution, ‘War of the Words’.  The poem is definitely a battle with Anoushka and Maddie taking it in turns to write alternate verses!

The Write Across London Poetry Map was launched in July of this year and, as the RSL site states, showcases ‘the creativity of Londoners’ and celebrates, ‘the power of poetry to bring us together in times of isolation’.  The website goes on to say, ‘In April 2020, the Museum of London put out an open call for submissions of both objects and first-hand experiences to reflect Londoners’ lives during the COVID-19 pandemic and received a huge number of poems. Inspired by this, we launched Write Across London to create a poetic snapshot of the city at an historic moment in its life.’

So far, the RSL has collected 60 poems which can be read on the map on their website.

If you would like to read Anoushka and Maddie’s poem, please visit the Royal Society of Literature’s website on https://rsliterature.org/poems-map/war-of-the-words/ and enjoy!

Strengthening Our Community: The Return of Boys to our Preps and Pre-Preps

We are excited to share that, from September 2026, boys will begin moving up from our Nursery into Reception, marking the gradual reintroduction of boys into our Prep and Pre-Prep School.

This step reflects growing interest from families who value our strong holistic ethos and unique grounds and setting and would like their sons and daughters to share their educational journey together.

At St Augustine’s, our strong sense of community, academic excellence, and deep care for each individual child remain at the heart of everything we do. This is a natural evolution of our school rather than a change to who we are, building on our strengths and allowing us to offer the same joyful, inspiring education to even more children.
