Big Sister, Little Sister

Return on International Women’s Day.

Milly in Upper VI reflects on the return of girls to St Augustine’s Priory on Monday 8th March!

‘How appropriate that on International Women’s Day, our school finally reopened its gates to the whole school after the latest COVID lockdown. After weeks of being forbidden from socialising outside of the home, today, as part of the recovery curriculum day, Priory 6 and Form III were able to meet over a picnic lunch as part of the Big Sister, Little Sister programme.

During the lockdown the sisters were able to keep in touch via email and google classroom>  However, this was not the same as gathering in person. It was amazing for everyone to be back in the familiar surroundings of our school after such a lengthy time apart. The sisters gathered outside in the wonderful grounds and, after enjoying their picnic lunch some continued chatting, a few played rounders in the field while others played splat in the Rose Garden. It was lovely to witness all the smiling, happy faces.

Between now and the end of the school year we hope to be able to organise many more similar meetings featuring fun games and quizzes, where we can all fully appreciate our school’s community spirit! We would like to take this opportunity to thank all members of staff for their hard work in order to ensure our safe return to school.’

Strengthening Our Community: The Return of Boys to our Preps and Pre-Preps

We are excited to share that, from September 2026, boys will begin moving up from our Nursery into Reception, marking the gradual reintroduction of boys into our Prep and Pre-Prep School.

This step reflects growing interest from families who value our strong holistic ethos and unique grounds and setting and would like their sons and daughters to share their educational journey together.

At St Augustine’s, our strong sense of community, academic excellence, and deep care for each individual child remain at the heart of everything we do. This is a natural evolution of our school rather than a change to who we are, building on our strengths and allowing us to offer the same joyful, inspiring education to even more children.
