Prep I enjoy a French Christmas

Le Sapin de Noël.

Prep I Form Teacher, Mrs van der Merwe, informs us about some linguistic advances made by Prep I:

‘Prep I have always loved their language lessons with Miss Gandi and this half term we have had the opportunity to learn even more. Miss Correia has been helping us to learn plenty of Christmas French.

We decorated our classroom sapin de Noël (Christmas Tree) using French decorations. The girls could choose to put either une guirlange (a garland), une boule de Noël (a bauble), or l’étoile de Noël (a star) on the tree.  You can listen to Prep I singing their French song here:

We have learnt a French song all about Père Noël coming down une cheminée bringing des joujoux and even done some impressive French writing. So, from all in Prep I, we would like to wish you all a Joyeux Noël and une Bonne Année!’

Strengthening Our Community: The Return of Boys to our Preps and Pre-Preps

We are excited to share that, from September 2026, boys will begin moving up from our Nursery into Reception, marking the gradual reintroduction of boys into our Prep and Pre-Prep School.

This step reflects growing interest from families who value our strong holistic ethos and unique grounds and setting and would like their sons and daughters to share their educational journey together.

At St Augustine’s, our strong sense of community, academic excellence, and deep care for each individual child remain at the heart of everything we do. This is a natural evolution of our school rather than a change to who we are, building on our strengths and allowing us to offer the same joyful, inspiring education to even more children.
