Happiness all round.
On Tuesday 7th July, Prep II had a full and exciting day at St Augustine’s Priory which started with their Songs and Certificates celebration in the morning in the Chapel, where they were joined by their friends from home. Songs and Certificates included a rendition of ‘Sing’ and Prep II exhorted us all to:
‘Sing, sing a song
Sing out loud
Sing out strong
Sing of good things not bad
Sing of happy not sad.
Sing, sing a song
Make it simple to last
Your whole life long
Don’t worry that it’s not
Good enough for anyone
Else to hear
Just sing, sing a song.’
After this, Mrs Raffray announced the certificates, which were presented to the pupils afterwards.
Following the Songs and Certificates, Prep II enjoyed a picnic in the Prep Meadow and they then completed their day with a tour of the Priory Farm where Mr Raffray guided them round the ducklings, chickens and pigs and Prep II completed their tour with an exploration of the allotment.
Prep II were keenly interested in the crops grown in the allotment, which include courgettes, tomatoes, beans, peas, potatoes, cabbages and sweetcorn and asked Mr Raffray many questions concerning the planting of crops, harvesting and varieties of crops planted.
