Carbon Footprint Challenge.

Lockdown has not stopped Mrs Bennet, Head of Faculty, in her targeting of the world of scientific and mathematical competitions and events.  IRIS (The Institute for Research in Schools) cancelled their Spring Conference and so students were invited to apply to contribute their presentations by video.  Our pupils were accepted and presented their findings on their research in the carbon footprint challenge.

We have heard the wonderful news that Sheyda Ghodrat and Anna Spurway of Lower V have been awarded Highly Commended for their presentation – congratulations to you both.

IRIS gave the following feedback on their presentation:

The Director of IRIS said, ‘This was a very strong presentation, and clearly representative of a significant amount of work.  I am delighted to award you ’Highly Commended’ and do hope that your interest in research continues.  This sort of work really has the potential to make a difference.’

St Augustine’s Priory has also received a prominent mention in the IRIS Summer Newsletter.  This is great news and just shows the wonderful things that can be achieved in these unusual times.

Strengthening Our Community: The Return of Boys to our Preps and Pre-Preps

We are excited to share that, from September 2026, boys will begin moving up from our Nursery into Reception, marking the gradual reintroduction of boys into our Prep and Pre-Prep School.

This step reflects growing interest from families who value our strong holistic ethos and unique grounds and setting and would like their sons and daughters to share their educational journey together.

At St Augustine’s, our strong sense of community, academic excellence, and deep care for each individual child remain at the heart of everything we do. This is a natural evolution of our school rather than a change to who we are, building on our strengths and allowing us to offer the same joyful, inspiring education to even more children.
