Seniors and Ealing Teen Read 2020

An invigorating discussion.

Last week we were visited by Ms K Franklin who works as the Schools’ and Children’s Service Manager in Ealing Secondary Schools.  Ms Franklin is part of the ‘School Library Services’ team, which organizes the ‘Ealing Teen Read,’ whose aim is to promote reading for pleasure.

Mrs Bhatti, School Librarian, reports that ‘Ms Franklin wanted to see how well our Ealing Teen readers are enjoying the selected books. During her visit, Ms Franklin joined the members of our Book Club (from the Seniors) for a discussion which examined the books in depth, discussed the different scenarios, the girls’ preferences among them and analysed the plots, characters and themes.  The girls impressed Ms Franklin with their range and depth of thought which resulted in a compelling discussion.’

The girls  have been captivated with reading the Ealing Teen Read shortlisted books, which are:

Mrs Bhatti continues, ‘Our Book Club still needs to read a few more books before deciding on St Augustine’s Priory favourite book.    When decided upon, our nomination will be forwarded, along with the nominations from the rest of the schools participating.  Following this, and depending on votes cast, the winning book of ‘Ealing Teen Read 2020’, will be announced.’

Strengthening Our Community: The Return of Boys to our Preps and Pre-Preps

We are excited to share that, from September 2026, boys will begin moving up from our Nursery into Reception, marking the gradual reintroduction of boys into our Prep and Pre-Prep School.

This step reflects growing interest from families who value our strong holistic ethos and unique grounds and setting and would like their sons and daughters to share their educational journey together.

At St Augustine’s, our strong sense of community, academic excellence, and deep care for each individual child remain at the heart of everything we do. This is a natural evolution of our school rather than a change to who we are, building on our strengths and allowing us to offer the same joyful, inspiring education to even more children.
