Nursery and Preps commemorate

Liturgy in the Prayer Garden.

At 11.00am on Friday 9th November the school bell rang for us all to remember the centenary of the ending of World War I and all those who had died in that and other wars.  Following the two minutes’ silence a liturgy took place in our Prayer Garden comprising people far too young to remember any war but who came to commemorate with the rest of the school.

Nursery to Prep III pupils had each painted a poppy on a stone and stood holding them as teachers reminded them of the significance of today.  After the reading of a poem, ‘Poppy, Poppy’, and a prayer, each child laid their stone side by side on the flower beds in the Prayer Garden, a beautiful and colourful representation of remembrance.
