Junior Film Night

Posted: 21st June 2018

Great support for Fundación Anpuy.

Miss De Lahitte reports that the recent Modern Languages Junior Film Night, held on Friday 8th June was a roaring success, raising a marvellous £174.10 which will go towards sponsoring the education of Nicolas, the boy we are proud to be sponsoring in Argentina through Fundación Anpuy in Salta, Argentina.  We have been sponsoring Nico for over a year now and the girls are showing great commitment to continuing this.

Miss De Lahitte reports, ‘Around 50 girls stayed to watch the film Coco, a beautiful and colourful film – an adventure that highlights family values and celebrates Mexican culture and traditions. The girls were engrossed in the film (some even became a bit emotional).  Popcorn, soft drinks and snacks were eaten like there was no tomorrow!

Thank you to all who attended and supported this event. Thank you to Jonel and Madina, our Languages Prefects for assisting with the food stall. Thank you also to our new Junior Deputy Head, Banu, who played a key role in promoting the event and who helped throughout the evening giving us a great hand clearing up at the end.

For our next event – to celebrate the World Cup and raise money to buy an England football kit for Nicolas, Priory 6 girls will be embracing the World Cup spirit by dressing up and making a song and dance in an attempt to fundraise for the football kit on Wednesday 27th June. The Sixth Formers will be collecting throughout the whole day so girls are encouraged to give generously!’

Strengthening Our Community: The Return of Boys to our Preps and Pre-Preps

We are excited to share that, from September 2026, boys will begin moving up from our Nursery into Reception, marking the gradual reintroduction of boys into our Prep and Pre-Prep School.

This step reflects growing interest from families who value our strong holistic ethos and unique grounds and setting and would like their sons and daughters to share their educational journey together.

At St Augustine’s, our strong sense of community, academic excellence, and deep care for each individual child remain at the heart of everything we do. This is a natural evolution of our school rather than a change to who we are, building on our strengths and allowing us to offer the same joyful, inspiring education to even more children.
