Blooming in June…

Ealing in Bloom competition.

Tuesday 19th June saw us welcome three judges from the Ealing in Bloom competition.  We were delighted to be able to show them around our grounds and tell them about all the wonderful things that happen there!

Mrs Knowles together with Nancy from Lower I, Alice from Upper I, Ivy and Fernanda from Lower II and Lucy and Abigail from Upper II accompanied the judges answering questions and guiding them as they saw our rose garden, allotment, farm, Prep Meadow and looked all the way to the Surrey hills from the statue of Jesus.

Our guides.

The Prayer Garden was their first port of call as Mrs Knowles explained to them the ‘Share the Journey’ walk each class, staff and parents are undertaking this week in support of refugees.

The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party

Lower IV:  Share the Journey

The judges met our animals, saw the beautiful display of the Mad Hatter’s tea party and were fortunate enough to see Lower IV on their ‘Share the Journey’ walk with the Lampedusa cross.   The allotment was heaving with life and the great support given to our girls by Mr Klein and Mrs Thukral was much in evidence.

Mrs Knowles commented, ‘The three judges were enthralled by what they saw, heard about, and lived through via the girls’ stories.  Our Sketchbook and Gardening Club Journal of evidence which had been prepared by the girls were much admired.

Hydration is so important!

We enhance the outside for teaching and learning, which in turn demonstrates how our teaching and learning breathes authentic life and purpose into our glorious outside space.

The judges were captivated and enchanted, acknowledging progress from year to year as we walked around.’
