A whole school runs.
On Sunday 3rd June, a day of glorious sunshine, a strong contingent of girls, parents and staff from the St Augustine’s Priory community running in the Race for Life for Cancer Research UK. Mrs Gosling, Director of Sport, reports:
‘The St Augustine’s Priory pink army assembled for the Race for Life in the Old Deer Park, Richmond. This was a fantastic event for all ages seeing girls aged from Prep II to Upper V walking, running and jogging around the course in sweltering heat. This didn’t deter our community spirit or our performances which saw personal best times being achieved across all age ranges including by parents and teachers!
St Augustine’s Priory had four finishers in the top ten: Olivia Sparks came 3rd, Mia Simpson achieved 4th, Millie Vadon was in 8th place and Ashana McClune came in in 10th place. This is an incredible achievement bearing in mind that 1600 competitors took part.
This was such a brilliant event with a fantastic number of participants and supporters around the course cheering everyone one! The group have achieved an astonishing amount of fundraising which stands at over £3700! We would like to thank all who have sponsored us and motivated us all to achieve our best for a brilliant cause. We look forward to replicating these performances next year when our girls run in the Ealing Mini Mile in September!
