Holy Week

Faith Life at St Augustine’s Priory.

Our Holy Week at St Augustine’s Priory started with a joyous Palm Sunday procession on Tuesday with children from the Nursery to Preps waving their handmade Palm Leaves and greeting Jesus as he made his way into Jerusalem on a donkey.

Starting with a prayer service the children processed to the Prep Meadow where palm leaves were raised aloft and waved and on their return to the Prep Playground they decided to repeat Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem as they had enjoyed it so much the first time round!

On Wednesday Father Thomas celebrated Mass for the Juniors and Prep III – a fitting end to term filled with enthusiasm and wonderful prayers from the girls of Upper IIA who had organised the Mass.

In the afternoon the Chapel was filled with Seniors and staff while Priory 6 read the Passion according to St John around the altar with the organ loft filled with Priory 6 members who acted as the crowd.  This was such a moving occasion, bringing home to us all the meaning of Holy Week.

Strengthening Our Community: The Return of Boys to our Preps and Pre-Preps

We are excited to share that, from September 2026, boys will begin moving up from our Nursery into Reception, marking the gradual reintroduction of boys into our Prep and Pre-Prep School.

This step reflects growing interest from families who value our strong holistic ethos and unique grounds and setting and would like their sons and daughters to share their educational journey together.

At St Augustine’s, our strong sense of community, academic excellence, and deep care for each individual child remain at the heart of everything we do. This is a natural evolution of our school rather than a change to who we are, building on our strengths and allowing us to offer the same joyful, inspiring education to even more children.
