Student’s work displayed in exhibition.

We are delighted to announce that the work of Daniela Cebotari, Priory 6 Photography student, will be featured in an exhibition this week of at the Espacio Gallery (159 Bethnal Green Road, London, E2 7DG).

Daniela entered ‘The Bigger Picture’ photography competition and her entry was commended by the judges, who said, ‘The competition received 550 entries and the judges were delighted with the high standard of the entries this year… the judges commended your image and we’re delighted to let you know it will be displayed as part of ‘The Bigger Picture’ exhibition to be held at the Espacio Gallery in London.’  Following a private viewing tomorrow evening the exhibition will be open to the public from 21st to 25th March.

The gallery’s website explains ‘Social science research plays a vital role in our society. From big ideas to the most detailed observations, social science affects us all every day – at work, in school or college, within our communities, when exploring our identities and expressing our beliefs.

The Bigger Picture competition is an opportunity for 14-18 year olds to be creative by using photography to explore the relevance of social science to their life.’

Daniela comments, ‘The photograph I submitted to the competition was part of a photoshoot which I did not plan! I had been out shopping on Oxford Street and had my camera in my bag with me. The roads were closed down by police and no one knew why. Just as I was about to enter the underground, I heard a lot of chanting and saw posters. I grabbed my camera out of my bag and began clicking away. My old photography teacher had informed our class of this competition which relates to my project focusing around society and advised us to send in some work. I had sent in one of my favourite photographs from that unexpected shoot without any expectation of a reply.’

The Espacio Gallery is open Tuesday – Saturday from 1.00 – 7.00pm and on Sunday from 1.00 – 5.00pm.

Strengthening Our Community: The Return of Boys to our Preps and Pre-Preps

We are excited to share that, from September 2026, boys will begin moving up from our Nursery into Reception, marking the gradual reintroduction of boys into our Prep and Pre-Prep School.

This step reflects growing interest from families who value our strong holistic ethos and unique grounds and setting and would like their sons and daughters to share their educational journey together.

At St Augustine’s, our strong sense of community, academic excellence, and deep care for each individual child remain at the heart of everything we do. This is a natural evolution of our school rather than a change to who we are, building on our strengths and allowing us to offer the same joyful, inspiring education to even more children.
