St Augustine’s Priory Nativities 2017

This festive week began with carol practice in Assembly on Monday and will end with Christmas Jumper Day and the Parents’ Committee Christmas Fair on Friday! Sandwiched in between has been three consecutive days of the Nursery and Prep Nativities! On Tuesday 5th December Prep I & II set the scene:

“It all began a long time ago…”, Mary and Joseph had a lot of trouble finding a place to stay this week.  “You’re too late, we’re full up!”, our Prep I & II Inn Keepers told them, so they made themselves as comfortable as they could in a tiny manger. Prep I & II delivered their lines with confidence, with a wicked King Herod giggling menacingly and camels who graciously guided the Three Kings up and down Chapel on their way to meet the baby Jesus.

The Nursery sang beautifully in their Nativity on Wednesday afternoon. The parents, Miss Keane and Mrs Raffray gathered in the Nursery classroom, lit by fairy lights and a backdrop of a manger in a stable. The Three Kings, the Shepherds, their camels, the Angels, animals and Mary and Joseph all joined in with actions to ‘Warming our toes by the fire’ and ‘Away in a manger’, and afterwards were presented with certificates by Miss Keane!

Prep III blew us away on Thursday afternoon, and even treated us to an encore! Mrs Lubowiecka had promised Mrs Raffray some Oscar-worthy performances, and Prep III delivered a faint-hearted Joseph and a heavily pregnant Mary with back pain. Thank you to the girls for filling the school with festive cheer, and to all our Early Years teachers, TAs and parents for all their hard work.

You can listen to sound bites of the Nativities on our social media accounts (Instagram @st.augustines.priory and Twitter @staugustinesp), and DVDs and USBs of all of this year’s Nativities are available to purchase from Film Fairy (07850452587 or hello@filmfairy.co.uk)
