Last Friday 20th October our Parents’ Committee annual fireworks display, Priory Pyrotechnics, once again lit up the early autumn sky over our Ealing grounds. The evening took place at the bottom of the field thus providing St Augustine’s Priory as a dramatic backdrop to the fireworks. Staff, parents and girls manned the stalls, from Priory 6’s makeover stand and photo ‘studio’ to the parent-run barbecue.
While the festivities were set up, our Pitshanger Bookshop Drawing and Writing Competition winners received their prizes in the Head’s study. We would like to congratulate winners Nicole Bourne of Prep I, Arianna Pourgourides of Upper I and Tamara Al-Zarrad of Lower II Alpha, and runners up Sofia Britz of Prep II, Kiara Cui of Lower I and Niamh McDermott of Lower II A. We would like to thank everyone for their wonderful entries to the competition, and were especially proud to see a recurring theme of laudato si in many of them. We look forward to seeing them all displayed in the school so that everyone can enjoy the hard work and creativity that went into each story, poem and picture.
A phenomenal fireworks display illuminated the school in sync with a pop soundtrack, and girls could be heard singing along in-between the noise of each rocket. We would like to thank our Parents’ Committee, girls and staff for once again coming together to run a fun-filled community event that was showered with positive feedback!
