Nursery and Preps: Working Together

The Eco Mural Displayed

Pope Francis’ encyclical of 2015, “LAUDATO SI’, mi’ Signore” – “Praise be to you, my Lord” asks us to care for the Earth, our common home.  The Juniors responded to the Pope’s call and put together letters with their responses to his encyclical and sent them to Pope Francis.

Now the Nursery and Preps have been working on their own response to Pope Francis’ call through some creative upcycling as Mrs Morris, Nursery Practitioner, reports:

‘From the Nursery to Prep III the pupils spent half a term collecting different coloured bottle tops which were then used to make a mural. This was part of a project to highlight recycling the objects we use every day and then using them to create a colourful mural for the Prep Playground.

Each child contributed to the mural by choosing a handful of bottle tops to stick on the picture of ‘all hands working together around the world’.

The result, a beautiful eco mural, a testament to team work and creativity, is now displayed in the Prep Playground for all to enjoy.

Strengthening Our Community: The Return of Boys to our Preps and Pre-Preps

We are excited to share that, from September 2026, boys will begin moving up from our Nursery into Reception, marking the gradual reintroduction of boys into our Prep and Pre-Prep School.

This step reflects growing interest from families who value our strong holistic ethos and unique grounds and setting and would like their sons and daughters to share their educational journey together.

At St Augustine’s, our strong sense of community, academic excellence, and deep care for each individual child remain at the heart of everything we do. This is a natural evolution of our school rather than a change to who we are, building on our strengths and allowing us to offer the same joyful, inspiring education to even more children.
