St Augustine’s Priory Multi-Faith Eid Breakfast

Posted: 28th June 2017

‘It is the duty of everyone to defend religious freedom and promote it for all people’, Pope Francis.

It is an important part of the mission of Catholic schools to engage in dialogue and work together with people of other faiths in our school and local community. After recent events we, as a faith community, want to show that members of different faiths can join together in times of celebration.

Earlier this month our Cardinal, Vincent Nichols, was joined by London Mayor Sadiq Khan and Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis at an interfaith ‘iftar’ (this is the meal eaten by Muslims after sunset during Ramadan) at Archbishop’s House. During that event Cardinal Nichols emphasised, “in these times it’s more important than ever to bring together our different communities and work to bring peace and prosperity.”

Before school on Wednesday morning, girls and staff joined together in celebration in the Nuns’ Refectory to enjoy a Multi-Faith Eid breakfast organised by Head of Religious Studies, Mrs McDermott.  Eid Mubarak!

Strengthening Our Community: The Return of Boys to our Preps and Pre-Preps

We are excited to share that, from September 2026, boys will begin moving up from our Nursery into Reception, marking the gradual reintroduction of boys into our Prep and Pre-Prep School.

This step reflects growing interest from families who value our strong holistic ethos and unique grounds and setting and would like their sons and daughters to share their educational journey together.

At St Augustine’s, our strong sense of community, academic excellence, and deep care for each individual child remain at the heart of everything we do. This is a natural evolution of our school rather than a change to who we are, building on our strengths and allowing us to offer the same joyful, inspiring education to even more children.
