Guest Speaker announced for Summer Arts Evening 2017

Posted: 9th June 2017

Every year Miss Eng, Head of Art, invites an inspirational guest speaker to attend the St Augustine’s Priory Summer Arts Evening and speak at the prize giving. This year, Miss Eng has asked Isatu Hyde, a functional ceramics potter, to discuss her career with our guests and girls.

Isatu Hyde is a designer and craftswoman based in North West London. She currently runs a small pottery studio based above the Committee of Taste café in Gladstone Park. Work produced in her studio is made on the potter’s wheel and intended to be both cherished and used. Isatu completed a degree in Sustainable Product Design at Falmouth University, and then a 3 year traditional apprenticeship with Andrew Crouch at The Marches Pottery in Ludlow. Her work is a reflection of her broad inspirations taken from ceramic traditions and design history from around the globe, and of her dedication to craft practice, good design and hand skills. A selection of Isatu’s work will be available at the Summer Arts Evening on 28th June for purchase in the Rose Gardens.

We are anticipating with great excitement our annual Summer Arts Evening, our celebration of all things artistic at St Augustine’s Priory and are looking forward to welcoming you all and our guest, Isatu Hyde, to celebrate with us.

Strengthening Our Community: The Return of Boys to our Preps and Pre-Preps

We are excited to share that, from September 2026, boys will begin moving up from our Nursery into Reception, marking the gradual reintroduction of boys into our Prep and Pre-Prep School.

This step reflects growing interest from families who value our strong holistic ethos and unique grounds and setting and would like their sons and daughters to share their educational journey together.

At St Augustine’s, our strong sense of community, academic excellence, and deep care for each individual child remain at the heart of everything we do. This is a natural evolution of our school rather than a change to who we are, building on our strengths and allowing us to offer the same joyful, inspiring education to even more children.
