Summer Arts Evening 2017

Posted: 7th June 2017

We believe each member of our community is unique, with her own giftedness.  We treasure intellect and quality of thought, and we seek to inspire our girls so that they see the rewards of intellectual curiosity and discovery.

Some of last year’s exhibits

Our Summer Arts Evening this year falls on Wednesday 28th June and will take place from 5.00 – 8.00pm.  At this celebration of the Arts at St Augustine’s Priory, we will exhibit the Art, Poetry, Music and Drama created by our girls this academic year.  Musical performances, film screenings, poetry recitals and drama pieces will adorn the tailored walk-through of the school in accompaniment to the girls’ GCSE and A Level artwork which will be on display.  Weather permitting, the displays will spill out into the beautiful Rose Garden, where a mini ‘food-festival’ and bar will be set-up (we are pleased to be welcoming back our friends, The Indians Next Door, and their delicious curries which will be for sale throughout the evening).

Our guest speaker – production potter and ceramic designer Isatu Hyde – will give a talk on the creative industries at the Art awards ceremony and her work will also be on display.  We look forward to welcoming Ms Hyde and know that our girls will draw inspiration from her experience.  Please do RSVP at sapriory.com/arts-evening/ and come along to enjoy the festivities!
