Upper IV on their production of ‘The Witches’

Posted: 19th May 2017

Madina Masoud, Zayna Ahmad & Lizzy Higham tell us more about Upper IV’s performances of ‘The Witches’ by Roald Dahl from the perspective of the actors:
‘Last Monday and Wednesday, Upper IV A and Alpha performed The Witches by Roald Dahl. We felt extremely privileged to be inaugurating the newly-refurbished Hall and facilities. Our comical play proved a success with lots of laughter from both the audience and backstage. Our class portrayed a variety of characters such as witches, chefs and waiters and we were lucky enough to portray some of the main characters, including the Boy and Grandma.
The most enjoyable part of the production was working together in our scenes and dressing up in wigs and costumes. The experience was both enjoyable and educational as we learnt how to improve various skills including communication and team work.  The new facilities assisted our performance as costume and scene changes were made easy. Overall, the play went well and despite several hiccups, as a class, we managed to persevere and improvise.
Upper IV would like to thank Ms Brown and the estate staff for their help during the rehearsals and set-building. We look forward to participating in future school productions.’
