Lower II Ballerina to make debut in ‘The Secret Garden’

Posted: 5th May 2017

We have received exciting news that one of our girls, Kanae Hashimoto of Lower II, will be performing The Secret Garden as a member of the London Children’s Ballet.  More than 500 children auditioned for the performance company, who create a new West End ballet each year performed by talented dancers aged 9-16.

Of these 500, only 30 made it through!  On 30th and 31st May Kanae will perform their version of The Secret Garden with the London Children’s Ballet at the Lyric Theatre in Hammersmith.  It will be the company’s first one act ballet and is aimed at introducing new and younger audiences to the art form.

Mrs Round, Kanae’s form tutor said, “Hasn’t she done well!  No surprise though – she was wonderful in the danceshow last term”.  Congratulations, Kanae, and good luck!

Strengthening Our Community: The Return of Boys to our Preps and Pre-Preps

We are excited to share that, from September 2026, boys will begin moving up from our Nursery into Reception, marking the gradual reintroduction of boys into our Prep and Pre-Prep School.

This step reflects growing interest from families who value our strong holistic ethos and unique grounds and setting and would like their sons and daughters to share their educational journey together.

At St Augustine’s, our strong sense of community, academic excellence, and deep care for each individual child remain at the heart of everything we do. This is a natural evolution of our school rather than a change to who we are, building on our strengths and allowing us to offer the same joyful, inspiring education to even more children.
