Juniors collect gifts for Christmas

Operation Christmas Child

Every year near Christmas the Juniors set about collecting shoe boxes. This does not show an avid love for boxes, or for shoes, but in order to send Christmas gifts to children in need abroad, it is necessary to first have an empty shoe box to fill!

Operation Christmas Child, run by Samaritan’s Purse, collects all the gift-filled shoeboxes and delivers them to children in need around the world.

We broke our record this year with over 140 boxes being packed into a car today by Upper II to be taken to the depot, ready to be sent abroad.

The boxes are filled with toys, crayons, toothbrushes, notebooks, socks, gloves… the list is endless… , but all are items which are either useful or fun and will be sure to delight those who receive them.

Mrs Lozinski, an Augustinian parent, who organises this event every year, thanked all those who contributed, ‘it is so wonderful to see so much being given to this cause, thank you to everyone who made this happen’.
