Mr J Salmon, Science Department
This term we welcome Mr James Salmon to the Science Department at St Augustine’s Priory. Here he writes about his career so far…
‘I am a Biologist, having studied Natural Sciences (Botany), then Molecular Biology (Insulin) and then German (Translation). At St Augustine’s Priory I will be teaching Physics, Astronomy and coordinating the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
Originally from Bristol, I have lived in London for 40 years. My wife, Mary, is American and we spend a lot of time in Upstate New York, which is not like New York city!
I love teaching and I am paid to do it! I am semi-retired (and really old), so I only do the teaching I like (I like St Augustine’s!). My hobby is learning and London is great for that. Outside Biology I have lots of interests, especially Astronomy and History. I like travelling and outdoor pursuits, so working on the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award suits me down to the ground.
At home I spoil our cat, Sasha, read a lot and collect books; I have 10,000 books so far. (My wife is really delighted about that).’
We wish Mr Salmon well and hope that he is very happy during his time at St Augustine’s Priory.
