Sports Days

Come rain, come shine…

Monday 14^th June saw the first of this year’s Sports Days, the Senior Sports Day which took place in the grounds and on the Astroturf.  The weather was, to say the least, changeable, but the girls showed incredible endurance, strength and perseverance as every event in track and field was completed despite the occasional (heavy) shower!  Pupils performed to the cheers of their friends, parents and staff and it was a great way to celebrate all our sporting prowess.  This was a year when many records were broken, a testament to the hard work and talent of our athletes.

At the end of the day the staff held their annual relay race with St George triumphing.  Overall, after a hard-fought day among the four Houses the Senior Sports Day saw St Gabriel’s House awarded first place.

Later in the week Junior Sports Day took place and our athletes were enthusiastic as they displayed their skills in the grounds and the Astroturf.

Finally, Friday 24^th June saw the Nursery Sports Day, where sprinting and balancing were just two of the events on offer.  A happy day was had by all!

All pupils entered with enthusiasm into their Sports Days and they were a wonderful testament to our pupils and to the dedication of all the PE Department staff.
