Upper II production of Annie Junior

Posted: 6th May 2016

“It’s a hard enough life for us”… But not for the audience!

A crowded room of proud parents and teachers were itching to join in with the singing that filled the hall of St Augustine’s Priory on Wednesday evening, during Upper II’s production of Annie Junior.

In the words of Director of Music, Mr Martin, “the dedication and hard work which the girls have shown during the rehearsal period was richly rewarded and the show was enjoyed by an appreciative audience of parents and also by the rest of the Juniors who were treated to a preview at the dress rehearsal on Wednesday morning.”

As ever the pupils struck a perfect balance of poise and enthusiasm, culminating in an energetic performance.

Alongside the laudable efforts of Ms Brown, Miss Daya, Mr Martin and Dr Higgins, thanks is due to the parent body – you did a fabulous job of preparing girls with costumes – it really is encouraging to see such support among parents, not to mention the artistic talent that some of you keep hidden!

What a joy to see our girls enjoy the freedom to express themselves with such zeal. The show was testament to the continuing work of the Music and Drama departments and Junior teaching staff, in ensuring every pupil at St Augustine’s Priory is encouraged to explore, experiment and enjoy themselves in a safe environment.

To all our girls we repeat “You are special. Never stop believing in that!”
