Resilience

Alessia

Alessia

Alessia joined St Augustine's Priory in Year 4 and has grown into a shining example of resilience, leadership, and dedication.

The smaller class sizes helped her settle quickly and catch up with reading, while the school's nurturing environment and supportive peers allowed her to thrive.

Diagnosed with dyslexia, Alessia benefited from tailored support that empowered her academic and personal growth. Throughout her time at the school, she fully embraced opportunities, completing both her GCSEs and A Levels with dedication.

A passionate cheerleader from the start, Alessia became team Captain for four years before coaching the squad, earning “Coach of the Year” twice and leading the team to multiple competition wins, including being placed first overall against a large number of other schools in the 2024/25 season.

In Senior School, Alessia emerged as a leader. She was elected as Deputy Head Girl through a school-wide hustings process. Alessia played a key role in uniting the Preps and Pre-Preps with the Senior school by leading assemblies, participating in overseeing a toy drive, organising the expansion of a 'buddy' system for younger pupils with older ones, a treasure hunt, and a Children’s Mental Health Week activity.

Alessia leaves St Augustine’s as an accomplished, compassionate role model and a true example of resilience in action. We wish her well as she progresses to university.
