Pastoral & Wellbeing

“We are a 'telling' school and take a zero-tolerance approach to bullying. Tutors and Heads of Year are very proactive. Pupils can report anonymously, and we offer restorative practices and workshops on empathy and kindness in addition to having an ethos whereby all pupils support each other.”

School Culture & Values

“Ambitious, nurturing and independent.”

“We set high expectations but guide pupils with respect. There’s a clear code of conduct, but we focus on helping children to reflect and learn from mistakes rather than just punishing.”

Student Life

“We offer over 50 clubs for the Senior School and a similar number for the Preps and Pre-Preps. These include everything from chess to coding, cheerleading to LAMDA. Pupils are encouraged to try new things.”

“From Year 5 up, children can become class reps, house captains, and take part in student council. Older pupils lead clubs, run assemblies, and mentor younger children. Pupils have opportunities to deliver TED talks and enter a vast array of competitions and sporting challenges.”

“We begin careers and university preparation in Year 9. Pupils receive tailored advice, and we run university visits, Oxbridge prep, and interview practice. Sixth formers also get individual UCAS guidance.”

Logistics

“The school day runs 8:40am to 3.30pm for Preps and Pre-Preps and 8.40am to 3.40pm for Seniors. We offer before and after school clubs onsite and co-curricular activities. There’s a supervised homework club if needed.”

“Lunch is freshly prepared in-house with vegetarian, gluten-free, and allergy-friendly options. Pupils have a choice and, alternatively, they can bring a packed lunch if they wish.”

Admissions & Fit

“In the Good School Guide's words "we can't think of any child that would not thrive here with the care they get".  Children who are curious, kind, and willing to get involved do especially well. We look for potential, not just achievement. Pupils don’t need to be extroverts, they just need to want to learn and grow.”
