Modern Languages: Student Success at UWL

On Wednesday 17th June, pupils Ayaka and Tatiana represented our school at St Mary's University MFL Poetry Live Final.

55 Year 8 pupils from across 17 schools took part in this poetry recital which involved reciting a poem by heart in either German, French or Spanish in front of an audience and then reciting an unseen poetry  in front of a panel of judges. Ayaka recited  L'éternité (by A. Rimbaud) and Tatiana Se equivocó la paloma (by R Alberti). Well done to both our pupils who preformed exceptionally well. Special congratulations go to Tatiana who was awarded 2nd place!!!

The panel of judges included the Co-President of the Association for Language Learning, Director of Modern Languages of United Learning and Modern Languages University Tutors.

We are very proud to share with you that our pupils' outstanding language level and politeness were particularly praised by the organisers.

Special thanks to our Modern Language teachers for encouraging, preparing and supporting our participants at the event, and especially Ms de Lahitte for accompanying them to the event.
