Youth Mayor of Ealing raises funds for charity
Thursday 5th May 2016
The Little Princess Trust
During her year in office, Pervin Kaur, Upper VI student at St Augustine’s Priory and Youth Mayor of Ealing, is working hard on several issues including fundraising for The Little Princess Trust, a charity which provides real hair wigs to children across the UK and Ireland who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment.
Since its inception in 2006, the charity has helped thousands of children. They work with suppliers throughout the UK and Ireland, all of whom supply real hair wigs. The Little Princess Trust has recently extended its mission to include, when funds allow, the provision of financial assistance for research into the causes of childhood cancers and into minimising the effects of chemotherapy in children.
Pervin Kaur says, ‘I have set up a fundraising page (www.lpt16.com) where parents can donate/pledge any amount for the charity.
So far I’ve raised £273 and have cut 12 inches of my own hair to donate to The Little Princess Trust.
I am also organising a fundraiser event to be held at the world famous The Queen’s Club in Kensington on Saturday 20th August 2016. The evening includes a private 3-course dinner in the President’s Room with live performances and a chance to bid for auction items. There will also be welcome drinks where you have the opportunity to socialise with other current/ex-politicians, member of the European Parliament and businesses.
Guests may purchase their tickets by going to the website (http://www.lpt16.com) and registering an account. All details will be kept confidential and not shared with any other parties.
Should you be unable to attend the event, you can still support The Little Princess Trust by going to the site where you may bid for auction items.’
