Our Parents’ Committee

This year is speeding by!  Our anniversary year of One Hundred Years of Faith has been marked with the visit of H.E. Cardinal Vincent Nichols and the blessing of the Prayer Garden.  We are also still working on the community’s ‘A Stitch in Time’ embroidery project and have enjoyed the visit of Circus PaZaz and the Summer Social, the inauguration of  our outdoor stage, the Fantastic Fireworks night and the traditional events of Feast Day, the First Holy Communion Mass and the Upper VI Progression Dinner, to name but a very few.

The Parents’ Committee has been at the heart of many of these events, their indefatigable organisation and work benefits pupils throughout the school.  From the Parents’ Summer Social and Circus PaZaz alone over £9,000 was raised and the recent Fantastic Fireworks night was the most successful ever and raised a marvellous £3,800.  All the money raised goes to benefit the pupils and we are very grateful for the Parents’ Committee and all the support they are given.

In the run up to Christmas one of the highlights to look forward to is the annual Christmas Fair, organised by our wonderful Parents’ Committee.  This year it is being held on Friday 4th December at 3.30pm and, as ever, it promises to be as magical as ever.

This is one of the year’s special events and is always supported and enjoyed by our parents and pupils alike.  From the throng of Preps and Juniors at the Teddy Tombola, the Christmas Gift Stall, the chance to show how accurate your aim is at the Snowman Hoopla Stall to the edible delights at the refreshment stall, this is a great way to enjoy a pre-Christmas Friday afternoon.

The Parents’ Committee are requesting your help in making this the success it always is.  Do you have new any new or nearly new teddies and soft toys for the Teddy Tombola or any Christmas gifts, novelties, decorations or crafts in good condition and suitable for all genders and all age ranges for the Christmas Gift Stall?  (Plastic cups and instructions for the Snowman Hoopla stall will be coming your way soon!). Mince pies will be needed for the refreshment stall and cakes (home-made or shop bought) would also be welcome (edible donations will only be accepted for this stall on the day).  Apart from the edibles, all donations should be handed in by Wednesday 2nd December to Reception.

Donations for the Christmas Raffle will also be welcome, especially ‘fine foods’ & Champagne. The Committee hopes to have a wide variety of prizes available for both children and adults and will be selling tickets in the run up to the Fair and also on the day of the Fair. If you are able to donate any items for the raffle, please email parentscommittee@sapriory.com  or let your Class Rep know.

To add to the thrill of the day the Parents’ Committee are also holding a ‘Christmas Themed Make-up and Mufti Day’ on Friday 4th December.  For a £2.00 donation each girl may wear own clothes and make-up through the day – which should be on a Christmas theme.  This could be in Christmas colours or around a special festive theme.

There is a great deal to look forward to in the run up to Christmas and Friday 4th December is one of the highlights!
