A week of adventure
Ljilja Vincic, Lower IVA, writes about Lower IV’s recent visit to Lille, France.
‘From 14th to 18th September Lower IV visited Lille in France. Once we arrived we were thrown head first into our amazing actvities. We first went to a French farm where we were privileged to learn how to make bread and also said hello to some friendly goats, chickens and a donkey. We ended the visit by having a fight in the hay! We then tasted some traditional French waffles. After this we met our wonderful host families and spent the evening getting to know them.
The next day was our first encounter with French school where we met our welcoming penpals and teachers. Throughout our visit we experienced visits to many amazing museums include La Piscine, an old swimming pool which has been transformed into an art gallery, an old mine and a doll and toy museum. We also had a rather wet trip to the centre of Lille and to its shopping centre, Euralille.
Altogether we had an unforgettable time and we wish to thank our teachers Miss Gandi, Mr Alejandro and Mrs Griffiths for making sure we had a great visit to France. We would also like to thank our host families who most graciously welcomed us into their homes.’
